Barcelona is the #1 most visited city in Spain. For most of my Muslim brothers and sisters, a trip to this popular Spanish city means a search for halal food. Well don’t worry, because I’ve got you covered!

Most Halal restaurants are located in Las Ramblas on Nou de la Rambla and Rambla del Raval. Las Ramblas is a very famous street in Barcelona. It is 2km (1.24miles) long and a combination of 5 boulevards.  This is where many tourists and locals hang around.

Below is a list of 6 recommended halal eateries you shouldn’t miss.

Rincon del Raval

Address:  Carrer de Sant Pau, 100, 08001 Barcelona Spain

      Hours: 9am – 1am

      Price: $

This restaurant offers typical Moroccan dishes for an affordable price. Here you can find Harira soup, various Tajine dishes, Moroccan entrees and sweets.

Al Atlas sandwiches

Address: Rambla del Raval, 30, 08001 Barcelona, Spain

      Hours: 10am – 1am

      Price: $

I am sharing with you today a hidden gem that only locals know.  Al Atlas Sandwich AKA The 2 euros Islamic Sandwich Shop offers some of the most fulfilling, healthy and scrumptious sandwiches for as little as 2 euros ($2.18). During the evening periods, there is usually a long line of customers waiting to be served. So you know it’s that good.

Paloma Blanca

Paloma Blanca

Address:  Carrer de  l’Hospital, 118, 08001 Barcelona, Spain

      Hours: 11:00am – 1:00 am

      Price: $

This is another Moroccan restaurant but with a twist. Here you have a display of the raw food you want. The Chef would then select the ingredients and have them cooked for you. This way you are assured that your meal is fresh and not stale. The food is also delicious here and it doesn’t break the bank. I’ll advise you to stop by during early lunch hours (12pm-1pm) as it does get crowded later in the afternoon and seats would be hard to secure.
